Fall Down

I fall quite often, and it hurts
the pain reminds me of the fragility I exert
everything has a place, much more gentle than it can take
taste the circular texture
coming back around for another measure
slice me a piece of pleasure
so I can walk by and resist under pressure

Talk the talk if you like
your actions speak so loudly I can’t hear what your saying
the mic is waiting until your prayers sing

give me roots so I can climb higher than before
it takes time, like believing in the old lore
rhymes fine enough to shine the sun through doors
find mine combined with sublime toughness to explore
the rugged terrain filled with cuts, scrapes and sores

be badly beaten
take hits, its the only way to put yourself together
if you don’t know what bits your made of
_then how can you take a byte?
chunks of the past, memories leftover and thrown away
ready for less burdensome lessons, lonesome and found
surrounded by the world, lost in your own hometown
the path of the way is profound
profoundly simple
in what you have known all along in principal

go over obstacles
fall down
get back up
repeat

Body of Water

The wind ripping at the clothes of a young man speeding to his love
She waits for him
Her natural body fueled by the energy of underground springs
Even in these frigid and harsh mornings his mind is set.

When water arises from underground reservoirs it stay the same temperature upon arrival
It is cleansed by the underground system of limestone pockets
As he arrives on bicycle to the majestic river he stands in awe

Pulls out a pencil and notebook to try and capture this moment
he sits in joy as he sees others jump in the water
water that is much warmer than the outside wind chill

He sits and feels his toes in the grass
after some time he strips to his trunks
says a prayer of gratitude
jumps head first to kiss the body of his beloved
connecting his body of water with hers

ten thousand functions, one suchness

The journey of a thousand steps starts right at your feet
Step one was understanding the great feat up ahead
Better to take care of the shoes,

There is only one program called life
with one run on this path of our trajectory
Ten thousand functions
experience through interpreted history
the simpleness of all complexity
within suchness

quiet the mind
to seek the door of this suchness
it has many other worlds behind its surface

Each function plays a critical part
neatly defined, re-defined and called upon
the suchness depends on unity
without so it would not be such
much has been made of the last steps
to get through a journey
many emphasize the beginning

few stick through the arduous and ardent intermission
plan your obsession
to relieve attachment on all but perseverance
adhering to the mantra

ten thousand functions,
one suchness

waiting patiently

This world awaits your new self

It awaits for you to find that which you already have

When you awaken, your joys would not seem as great as your suffering
realizing that they both were necessary for the path to be formed of your journey

listen to the divine patience and compassion of silence
It calls to you and your inner voice
this emotional immaturity cries for love out of natural selfishness

feed this child the selfless compassion you would share with a struggling friend

This world awaits your new self
This world will wait patiently

Always Get Back Up

Every failure
is another chance to learn success
I have never met a battle that could not be met
within reason

The hardest battle is from within
nothing in my environment could keep up
with my expectations
dive into frustrations

I lost focus getting too focused on one thing
spread love, keep time
wake early, sleep early
take care of the body

3 miles at top speed
leaves me relaxed and relieved

30 mins of meditation
to clear clutter for concentration

These daily activities
of created energy
are the paths to realizing identity
clinging to the past or hoping for the future
while forgetting this present moment
is an omen of unused potential

find your obstacle
try as many times as you can to go through
when knocked down
always get back up

May there be peace and love and perfection throughout all creation

“I believe in God”
“God believes in me”

Words spoken in the mind during a meditation retreat.

“This is my reality”
“This is my ultimate reality”
“I have compassion for my ultimate reality”

Beliefs instilled deep within the roots of my veins

“This is happiness”
“Enjoy this moment”
“Nothing is more or less important than right now”

Values created through repetition
Learning of a new order and form

“Thank you for today”
“I am grateful”
“I am grateful for this, right now”

Gentle smiles of flickering light
straightened posture
Awaiting the gift of insight
while removing expectations

The silence and stillness and quiet
transforms

I found something more powerful than power,
compassion
